NIMH Student Travel Awards to Attend SBN99

The Society for Behavioral Neuroendocrinology is pleased to announce the availability of Student Travel Awards to attend the 1999 annual meeting in Charlottesville VA, 26-30 June 1999. These awards are funded by the NIMH Division of Neuroscience and Basic Behavioral Science and are intended for predoctoral students in good standing attending US and non-US graduate schools. The awards will be in the range of $200-$500, depending on the distance the student will travel to Charlottesville. Applicants must be first author of an abstract submitted for presentation at the meeting.

To apply for a travel award, students should send the following:

  1. Student's C.V.
  2. Copy of student's abstract to be presented at SBN99
  3. Letter of support from the student's faculty mentor
  4. Any other information that bears on the suitability of the candidate for the award

In making the awards, the committee will consider financial need of the applicant, the record of achievement of the applicant, and the impact of the award on the applicant's career. In addition, awards will be distributed across research areas represented by the SBN
