STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION: To enter the competition for best student poster, the student first author should mail a copy of the abstract and a statement of your intention to enter the competition to the address mentioned above.  These must be received by June 1, 2001.

MEET-THE-PROFESSOR LUNCHES:  A perennial favorite, small groups of students eat lunch and schmooz with one of the meeting's distinguished senior scientists.  Free lunch and a chance for informal interaction with a famous researcher in neuroendocrinology.  Students sign up for lunch at the meeting registration desk.

Suggest a scientist that you would like to have lunch with by sending email  to Jill Schneider, js0v@lehigh.edu.  (Invited speakers at the meeting are appropriate choices for these lunches.)

BALANCING CAREER AND FAMILY: A PANEL DISCUSSION NOT FOR WOMEN ONLY:
Friday June 29 at 7:30 PM.
Students and postdoctoral research associates are invited to a panel discussion of strategies for a successful scientific career while raising children and/or caring for elderly parents.  Some of the panelists will include Matthew Grober and Jill Schneider who will speak on "Sexism in the Academy: It Hurts Everybody", Peg McCarthy will speak on "Academic Couples," and Diane Witt will speak on "Single Parenting", other panelists TBA.

CAREERS IN INDUSTRY:
Thursday June 28 from 5-7 P.M.
A workshop for students and postdoctoral research associates about careers available in industry for behavioral neuroendocrinologists.  Speakers: Roger Askew (Mr. ER-Beta) from Wyeth Ayers, and other speakers TBA.
