CONFERENCE HOTEL: Rooms have been reserved at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center. This is also the location of most of the meeting functions (sessions, posters, workshops, reception, etc.) on Sat, Sun, and Mon. On Tuesday June 20, sessions will be held in conjunction with ICN 2006 at the new David L. Lawrence Convention Center, located at 1000 Fort Duquesne Boulevard, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15222. At the Marriott, general sessions and workshops will be held in the large Grand Ballroom and poster sessions will be generously accommodated in the Marriott’s City Center meeting rooms A & B.
RATES: Rooms are available with a king-sized bed or with two full-sized beds. A block of rooms has been reserved at Marriott for the special rate of $99.00 (plus tax) for singles, doubles, triples and quads.
MAKING RESERVATIONS: The hotel is holding a limited number of rooms, so please be sure and make your reservation on or before May 26. To make reservations call 1-800-228-9290 in the US and Canada, or you can make reservations on-line by going to http://www.stayatmarriott.com/BehavioralNeuroendocrinology/ Also, be sure to visit the hotel’s web site at http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/pitdt . Alternatively, reservations can be made by calling 888.456.6600 or 412.471.4000. Identify yourself as a participant of the SBN conference. After May 26, rooms may be reserved on a space and rate available basis only.
RESIDENCE HALLS: This low-cost option is available for students and post-docs. Residence Hall rooms are being held at Duquesne University, located at 600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15282. The Residence Halls are conveniently close (approximately a 5 minute walk) to the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center and the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The following is a breakdown of the housing costs per night – the prices included a pillow, a bar of soap and one set of 2 sheets, 1 pillow case, 2 towels and 2 washcloths. There are televisions in the recreation/multi-purpose rooms in each dorm but not in each dorm room. There is free laundry facilities in each dorm but you will need to bring your own detergent. There is no phone service available in the dorms, so it is suggested that you bring your cellular phones. Internet service is not available in the dorms, however, one can visit the library to use computer services as a guest. There are no refrigerators in the dorm rooms. If one requires a refrigerator for medical reasons, please make note of this on your housing form. There are dining facilities on campus and off campus. There is also a Starbucks on campus located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union.

You can also download the Housing Request Form and fax the form to 412-647-8222. NOTE: This applies ONLY to accommodations in the residence halls. The local organizing committee will make room assignments on a first-come, first-served basis. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Be prepared to provide your name, male/female, roommate if double, parking information (parking will be available for $9.00/day), arrival/departure dates, and payment information.
